·
The Ayurveda Day was observed across India on November 5,
2018 on the occasion of the Dhanawantari Jayanti or Dhanteras with an aim to
further promote Ayurveda as the mainstream system of medicine.
· Lord Dhanvantari is considered as divine propagator of
Ayurveda. He holds the virtues of granting health and wealth.
· Therefore, Dhanvantari Jayanti was preferred for celebration
of Ayurveda Day by the Ministry of AYUSH to nationalise this system of
medicine.
